Cricket at CCC is back next month

Phew! Cricket is due to return to CCC soon. And, after a strong finish to last season, we’re raring to go.

The season kicks off on the 20th of April, with a home fixture against Newcastle. After winning both of last season’s fixtures over the Tynesiders, last season, the Keets will be looking to keep up the momentum and extend that unbeaten run.

The Keets’ last fixture in the NEPL ended in a draw away to Hetton Lyons. Prior to that stalemate with the Lyons, Keets also drew at home to Eppleton – so it will certainly be a case of looking to hit the ground running.

The first couple of months of the NEPL season will make a great taster for the Cricket World Cup, hosted in England and Wales for the first time in two decades. Now is also the perfect opportunity to sign up for a membership to the Keets Club… buy six pints, or six glasses of wine and get your seventh absolutely free!

With the warmer weather on its way, what better way is there than to spend your Saturdays than watching the Keets aim for their fourth NEPL title? The picturesque Lumley Castle serves as a stunning backdrop for our cricket pitch, and the bar remains one of the biggest draws for our members.

It stocks a wide range of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including many real ales. And with a capacity of roughly 100, there are plenty of seated and standing options and ample opportunity to make new friends whilst supporting the Keets. The bar is certainly a thriving hub of social activity – perfectly representing the club’s spirit of friendliness and community.

England are favourites to win one of cricket’s prizes on home soil, and CCC can be the perfect venue to watch the three lions do so.
