Every November, people nationwide look forward to seeing spectacular firework displays. We will be putting on a pretty impressive display of our own, as this November will mark the 30th anniversary of our annual fireworks show. Expect it to be back with a bang – and a big bang, at that!
We’ve set high standards… that we aim to beat
At Chester-le-Street Cricket Club, we have celebrated with a fireworks display every year since 1988. To hold our 30th annual display will feel like a major milestone! To put it into perspective: back in 1988, Milli Vanilli were in the charts, Mirandinha and Marco Gabbiadini were scoring for Newcastle and Sunderland, and Chester’s old G W Horner toffee factory had only recently been demolished.
Naturally, we intend to make the upcoming fireworks celebration our best yet – and it will all be happening at our site on Ropery Lane on Saturday 3rd November. The event will be packed with entertainment and celebration, with the on-site amenities set to include a fully licensed bar, a food marquee and fairground rides from 4:30pm. The fireworks will start at 6pm.
It’s easy to join us for our big event
Mark Burdon, a member of Chester-le-Street Cricket Club’s committee and the owner of Burden Pharmacies, called the fireworks display “something we look forward to each year and we wanted to celebrate our 30th event with a bang.
“We see the event as the perfect way to bring the whole community together and welcome people from across the region to celebrate our 30th year with us.”
Various ticket options are available. Tickets will be available on the door, priced at £5 for adults and £3 for children. However, you can save money by buying tickets in advance, where the prices are £4 for adults and £3 for children. Children aged two and under will be given free admission.
You could be especially tempted by our VIP package – where, for £15 per adult and £10 per child, it will be possible to view the display from our Castle View Lounge. Our VIP guests will each be greeted with a drink as they arrive and will have access to the balcony and bar as well as snacks.
Don’t wait to book your ticket
Tickets for our 30th annual fireworks display are already selling quickly, so we urge you to act quickly – we wouldn’t want you to miss out! It will be a great opportunity to meet others who are also enthusiastic about the celebrations.
The event will be run by volunteers, while the mobile coffee platform Dark Steam Division will be offering luxury hot drinks. Throughout the night, the Tea Hut will be open and serving food and drinks. We will also be joined by the North East medical training company Salus Medical looking after first aid arrangements for this event.
You can book your tickets through our website or from our bar – and don’t forget to use the hashtag #CCCFireworks30 when you share your pictures on social media!
