The Bar

Heart of the community

Our cricket club has had a bar since 1958, when our president at the time, Colonel J Turnbull, paid for one to be added to our Ropery Lane site. That bar more than paid for itself in its first complete year of operation and continues to flourish due to its generous array of amenities.

Today, our bar is one of the biggest draws for our members, as it is a thriving hub of social activity that fosters the club’s spirit of friendliness and community. We subscribe to all Sky Sports and BT Sport channels, which our members can enjoy watching while they casually chat away.

At the Bar

All year round, our TV screens in the bar broadcast the most recent sporting fixtures in not only cricket, but also rugby, boxing, golf and Premiership and Championship football. All of this action can be shown on our large screen via a projector. The bar also includes a pool table.

The bar stocks a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including real ales. Molson Coors is the main drinks provider for our bar, the combined seated and standing capacity of which is approximately 100. There are plenty of new friends to make among our bar’s regulars.
